Drain snake – drain cleaning with snake

Hello friends. Today we would like to tell you about drain snake – one of the most important tools used for drain cleaning. We provide drain cleaning and drain snaking services in Brampton, Oakville, Mississauga, Toronto, all across GTA.

drain snake

First of all we would like to tell you about the reasons your drain system might get clogged. Reasons include paper, food particles, plastic, fats, and other foreign substances which don’t belong to the drain system. The sole responsibility of the drain system is to transport water and waste – everything else doesn’t belong there and usually causes a drain blockage (clogged drain).

Thus if you’ve got a clogged drain, you need to take action immediately. A drain won’t unclog itself – it needs to get cleaned (with a drain snake, powerjet, etc) from the inside, or have a pipe fully or partially replaced. A drain snake does a great job at cleaning the drain pipes fast and cheap, saving you time and money.

We have 15 years of experience dealing with drain problems, waterproofing, and water service across GTA. Fully customer-oriented, we come up with solutions that work for you. If you’ve got any problems with your drain system, backwater valve, blocked pipes, building traps or any other plumbing issues at your home or office, all you have to do is give us a call.

We offer the following services: drain camera inspection, drain cleaning (incl. drain snake), drain system replacement and installation, installation of a backwater valve, building trap removal, sump pump installation and replacement, waterproofing and water service.

When you need punctual, friendly, and fairly priced service which cares for you and your home – just give us a call. All of our specialists are licensed, and all of our work is under a lengthy warranty. We use the latest technologies, and have 15 years of experience specifically across GTA.

Drain Cleaning Maintenance

Hello friends.

drain maintenance cleaning

Maintenance is a relatively inexpensive and a quick way to refresh the performance of your sewer system which will improve your quality of life. There are many ways to do it yourself with the help of soda, baking soda and vinegar, or strong chemical cleaners. If you choose this method you can manage on your own, but if you’re using a chemical cleaner make sure that it’s composition will not dissolve the material that makes up your pipes. Also, protect yourself – use rubber gloves and safety glasses and be careful as chemical cleaners can cause burns.

This type of cleaning can take place once every few years. It is inexpensive and not time consuming. Watch what gets in your sink, use protection in the kitchen sink, and avoid pouring fat directly into it.

Blockage Drain Repair

Blockage Drain Repair

Hello friends.

Today we would like to tell you about the causes of blockage in your sewer system. Causes of blockage may be different, but they all eventually lead to a backup, which can significantly deteriorates the quality of your life at home and can undermine your health. So why do blockages happen?

A very common problem are the roots that grow into connections of old ceramic pipes. Blockage can also be caused by fat that goes into your kitchen sink, hair, toilet paper, or shifts on old pipes. All this can lead to a blockage and require a blockage drain repair.

You can deal with drain blockage in different ways, each varying by price, hours of work and warranty.

Clogged Pipe and Blockage Drain Repair

If hair or a lot of toilet paper has clogged your drain, then you will need to make use of a mechanical snake. It will deal away with your blockage quickly and inexpensively, and blockage drain repair will be finished.

Otherwise, if there is an accumulation of fat, you should use a powerjet instead to save you money. If there are roots that have grown into your sewer system, then you can remove the blockage with a snake, and then clean the pipes with powerjet. However, this does not guarantee that the roots will no longer grow into your pipes. Therefore, we strongly recommend conducting a full or partial replacement of the sewage system, to prevent problems in the future.

Before conducting blockage drain repair, we recommend performing a camera inspection.

In our experience, 90-95% of all sewage problems happen in the building trap. Therefore, it is better to remove it and install of two back-to-back cleanouts in its place, which greatly simplify the processes of servicing and inspecting the sewage system.

All our work is licensed and insured. All excavated projects come with a warranty for 25 years. We carry out most of our work manually to preserve your landscape and always try to minimize the damage to your property.

Drain Cleaning: Blockage and Backup

Drain Cleaning

Hello friends.

Today we want to talk about drain cleaning.

A need for drain cleaning usually originates when you get a backup. Fortunately, in many cases, you can fix the problem yourself in a few steps.

First off, do not panic and use water. Take a look, and try to find where the backup originates from. You have several options:
• Basement floor drain
• Basement laundry
• Toilet or bathtub
• Kitchen sink

If the backup comes from the floor drain and the water returns to the basement after its use anywhere in your home, then the problem lies on the main line after the connection with the floor drain.

drain cleaning

You can solve this problem with a big mechanical snake.

If a backup from the laundry reaches the basement, and the floor near the floor drain id dry, then the problem is usually located at the spot the stack connects with the drain line. If your stack also contains a cleanout, the problem can also be solved with a big mechanical snake.
You can rent a mechanical snake from stores like Home Depot and do everything yourself. This does not require any special knowledge or license. By doing it yourself you also save your money.

Blockages

Blockages of bathtubs, sinks and toilets not located in the basement can usually be solved with a manual plunger, present in almost every household.
Now I would like to stop on the causes of blockage in your pipes. These problems usually belong to either of these two categories:
• Human-caused
• Human-independent

Let us start with the first category. When washing dishes try to prevent the flow of food particles and excess fat into the sewage system. Use extra protection for your kitchen sink, wipe the oil with a paper towel and dispose of it in the trash.

Try to prevent foreign objects from getting into your sink. If you have a dog – keep the toilet shut. We have pulled out 11 dog toys once while replacing a trap.

Preventing a backup is not that difficult.

Also, make sure that your line does not contain a building trap.

If you still had a backup, and you cannot deal with it yourself, do not hesitate to call us. We will solve all your problems at a time convenient for you.
We have extensive and comprehensive experience coupled with the best equipment. All our work is licensed and covered by insurance.

Drain Cleaning and Blockage Solutions

Drain and Pipe Cleaning

Hello friends.

Very often, customers have asked about cleaning the drain or a sewer pipe without resorting to technicians etc. Basic cleaning can be performed with baking soda. Dissolve one teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and pour it down the kitchen sink. Wait half an hour, then rinse with a large amount of hot water. This will wash away the remnants of fat from your trap and help avoid blockage in the future. In fact, most types of cleaning you can do on your own – you don’t need a license or special knowledge. Almost every house has a small hand plunger or snake, with which you will be able to remove all blockages in traps and washrooms of your household.

drain blockage

If you’ve got a clogged sewer, you can just rent a mechanical snake from Home Depot and run it on the spot where backup originates from – that’s usually the floor drain. You can also use chemical solutions to clean your pipes, but make sure that they are not aggressive to the materials from which your pipes are made of (copper, cast iron, or plastic). Also pay attention to your own safety – is advisable to use rubber gloves and goggles.

If you have trouble cleaning any drain, fully or partially, don’t hesitate to contact us. We have powerful manual and mechanical snakes of all sizes, we can easily alleviate any blockage in your kitchen, washroom, shower, or sewer.

Sometimes we might need to install a cleanout, to ensure penetration of the snake into the pipe. If the problem persists on the main sewer line even after snaking, we recommend a camera inspection, which will help us to evaluate the state of your tubes and establish the problem.

We, AAADrain experts have extensive knowledge and experience in service, maintenance, and replacement of drains and sewer systems. We are fully licensed, insured, approach every task responsibly and offer sensible solutions.

Basement leaks when it rains – prevention

Basement leaks prevention

Hello friends.

Autumn in full throttle and we would like to tell you what procedures are necessary to have a dry and secure basement ready for any weather.

But why fall, specifically?

Because fall, as a rule, is a season of big rains, and the roots that may have somehow gotten into your pipes have grown over the summer. This increases the possibility of a complete blockage or partial blockage of your sewer line. And if the pipe is already clogged, there is also a possibility of a backup.

To avoid this, it makes sense to perform a camera inspection, to determine the state of your pipes. And based on the results of the inspection, determine what to do next. If the line is completely clean, and the pipes are in good condition, there are no visible cracks and you don’t have a building trap – congratulations, you don’t have to do anything.

basement leaks

But, if you discovered one or more of these potential problems, then you can have us clean pipes with snake, perform full or partial replacement of your sewer line, replace your floor drains, and/or install a backwater valve.

It is known that you can have basement leaks from water that can get into your basement through walls. To combat this, we also perform foundation wall waterproofing procedures. Unclog sink

Unclog sink

Hello friends.

Today I want to tell you about our work, the tools we use, and how everything happens step by step.

Let’s assume you see water on concrete near the floor drain in your basement, after using a substantial amount of water around your house.
That water indicates that your sewer pipe clogged or damaged. To determine the problem, we use perform a camera inspection to see what had happened, and choose the best way to solve the problem.

unclog sink

Unblock sink

Depending on the problem, its magnitude, we can use the snake, which immediately eliminates the drain problem (unclog sink), whether it was a root causing an issue, or blockage, which would not help at all if the pipe collapsed. It should also be borne in mind that the mechanical snake is a heavy-duty machine, the frequent use of which can damage the pipe and tubes from the inside.

We could use a partial replacement of the pipe, to unclog sink, and with this type of work, we typically will set the cleanout. The cleanout is an access to your sewer pipe, which may come in handy in the future, especially if it is located outside. We can utilize the outdoor cleanout to perform a camera inspection or work with a mechanical snake without even needing to go inside the house.

Inside the house, very often clog small traps e.g. kitchen trap. You can unclog sink yourself using a plunger, but if this is not possible, or you have any difficulty, please call us. We will promptly unclog sink with a mechanical snake small diameter, and the problem will disappear.
However, there are situations when only digging and full or partial replacements can solve your sewer issues. AAADrain gives you a 25-year guarantee of serviceability on. In addition, for each digging project, an inspection with a camera and a mechanical snake, if necessary, will be performed for free.

With all our resources and experience, we are at your service with state-of-the-art drain cleaning & repair, waterproofing, and much more. Tasks, such as unclog sink, are not a problem for our experienced professionals.

Drain Cleaning, Sewage Pipes, Building Traps

Drain Cleaning

Hello friends.

Today I want to tell you about the drainage system. We will start off with sewage pipes. A sewage pipe gets not only pure water but also extra substances, such as soap remains, toothpaste, food, debris and other various types of waste. Among drainers, there are many stories about what is possible find in an old building trap.

Therefore, we sometimes we carry out the complete replacement of the sewage system. We perform replacing procedures of all floor drains, stacks, and branches, as well as install a back water valve to fully protect your home from rain water.

With this type of work, it is important to choose the right slope, so that water and all possible waste are moving towards the city drains at the same speed. If the angle is too high, water will run faster than the waste, which will clog the pipes and the backup. Who wants a wet basement with a bad smell?

The big problem with a small slope (that’s less than 1 degree) is calcium deposit. In residences, this substance occurs mostly from dishwashing when water runs off and does not wash out the tube walls. Over time, the entire pipe gets clogged, which makes us unable to use one of the most crucial parts of our system for drain cleaning.

drain cleaning

We would also like to leave a post scriptum about building traps. It is a very old style of sewer systems, which is now absolutely dated and unnecessary, since now, every plumbing device, such as a kitchen sink, toilet, sink, shower or bath, have their little trap, which is a trap for bad smells and external objects that could accidentally get into the system. In this case, we just work on drain cleaning with a snake. Building traps often get clogged or even damaged from tree roots. Therefore, we recommend removing the building trap even if the system is working well. About our next work, we’ll tell you in upcoming blog posts.
