Drain and Pipe Cleaning
Hello friends.
Very often, customers have asked about cleaning the drain or a sewer pipe without resorting to technicians etc. Basic cleaning can be performed with baking soda. Dissolve one teaspoon of baking soda in a glass of water and pour it down the kitchen sink. Wait half an hour, then rinse with a large amount of hot water. This will wash away the remnants of fat from your trap and help avoid blockage in the future. In fact, most types of cleaning you can do on your own – you don’t need a license or special knowledge. Almost every house has a small hand plunger or snake, with which you will be able to remove all blockages in traps and washrooms of your household.
If you’ve got a clogged sewer, you can just rent a mechanical snake from Home Depot and run it on the spot where backup originates from – that’s usually the floor drain. You can also use chemical solutions to clean your pipes, but make sure that they are not aggressive to the materials from which your pipes are made of (copper, cast iron, or plastic). Also pay attention to your own safety – is advisable to use rubber gloves and goggles.
If you have trouble cleaning any drain, fully or partially, don’t hesitate to contact us. We have powerful manual and mechanical snakes of all sizes, we can easily alleviate any blockage in your kitchen, washroom, shower, or sewer.
Sometimes we might need to install a cleanout, to ensure penetration of the snake into the pipe. If the problem persists on the main sewer line even after snaking, we recommend a camera inspection, which will help us to evaluate the state of your tubes and establish the problem.
